Nobody gets here alone.

Gratus is Latin for grateful. I named my company Gratus One after a feeling. After 30+ years of service, I know that every step of this road had people on it who showed up for me. Vibrational Sync is one of the things I built to say thank you.

Here's the story, one chapter at a time.

Chapter 1

Chicagoland to AMMO

I grew up in Chicagoland, Illinois. I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in November 1992 and spent that Thanksgiving at basic training in San Antonio.

Tech school for Munitions came next in Colorado Springs. Then came AMMO: Korea, Germany, multiple deployments and South Carolina. AMMO folks know the motto. I.Y.A.A.Y.A.S.

Chapter 2

COMM and a commission

In 1997 I was selected to retrain into Communications. I went back to South Carolina as enlisted COMM, then was assigned to DC.

My service in DC got me submitted to Officer Training School. I found out I'd been selected the same week I learned I'd made E-6. I commissioned at Maxwell, Alabama, and served as a Communications officer in Texas through 2007.

To every leader who put my name forward: thank you.

Chapter 3

The contractor and civilian years

2007: Army contractor, from Network Control Centers to Information System Security Officer.
2020: Air Force civilian, first as an Information System Security Manager, then as a Project Manager.
2025: Retired.

Sort of.

Chapter 4

What I'm building now

After 30+ years of service, I started building:

  • Coffee: Vibrational Sync
  • Apps: Tactical Vibes and My Tech Buddy
  • Security: O Williams Consulting, which brings DoD-grade security to small businesses

Same standard as the flightline: do it right.

Chapter 5

Grateful

Every chapter of this story had people in it who showed up for me. God first. Then everyone else: crews, leaders, family, friends, and now new customers.

That's why it's Gratus One. Refine. Prosper. Ascend.

Why Vibrational Sync

Vibration is focused positivity: gratitude for what we have and what we don't, looking only forward to the goal, and taking the lessons learned from every past attempt.

Sync is what happens when you hold that higher frequency. You attract people with similar goals and experience, and you fall into sync with them.

Most of the time, we're doing it with a cup of coffee in hand: while building, while planning, and between execution.
